A cooperation agreement aimed at the development of space activities, was signed on June 9, 2016, by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education "Russian Peoples’ Friendship University" (RUDN). The document was signed by Chairman of the NASB Presidium, Academician Vladimir Gusakov and Director of the RUDN Space Technology Institute Alexander Chursin.

According to the document, the Academy of Sciences and the Russian Peoples' Friendship University represented by the Institute of Space Technology plan to cooperate in the implementation of joint projects, primarily aimed at promoting the expansion of space knowledge, products and services. In addition, it is intended to develop and implement joint educational programs, including in applying the results of space activities in the industries under long-term and short-term training programs, exchange of scientific information; conducting international conferences, workshops and seminars to promote achievements in the field of space activities. It is also planned to organize joint research projects of fundamental and applied research aimed at creating space products and services, which form an information infrastructure for the creation and maintenance of information databases of scientific and technological developments and innovative projects.

In the nearest future a delegation of experts of the Institute of Space Technology will come to Minsk to agree on specific projects.
