3rd round table of young scientists to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration takes place

On July 28, 2016 the Department of Humanitarian Sciences and Arts held the 3rd round table of young scientists to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration. The main idea of a series of events conceived by the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Belarus is to provide opportunities to young scientists from the NAS of Belarus to get acquainted with the research interests of colleagues from other institutions and offices that can intensify their interaction. These tables have already taken place in Departments of Agricultural and Biological Sciences. Young scientists, graduate students and undergraduates not only humanitarian, but also the natural sciences and technical disciplines showed their interest in the event. Reports about the work with young scientists, the results of their research activity and directions to overcome the one-dimensionality of the disciplinary scientific research were made by the chairmen of councils of young scientists of structural subdivisions of the Department of Humanitarian Sciences and Arts of the NAS of Belarus. The work covered a wide range of topics and issues of the humanities, which require joint research by scientists from different branches of knowledge. It’s necessary to continue work started within the round table in order to develop specific mechanisms to facilitate the embodiment of proposals for interdisciplinary collaboration. Also it was noted the importance of studying the level of scientific literacy of the Belarusians and the implementation of actions for improving it. A fascinating tour of the Museum of Ancient Belarusian Culture was held for the participants of the round table.
