On September 5, 2016 the opening ceremony of the 23rd International Conference on Isoprenoids was held at the NAS of Belarus. The event brought together more than 60 leading and young scientists from 15 countries worldwide. As Vice Chairman of the NASB Presidium Aleksandr V. Sukalo noted at the opening, holding of the International Conference on this subject in Minsk meant that the world scientific community had recognized and appreciated the results of Belarusian scientists.

The Forum takes place at the NAS of Belarus on September 4-7, 2016 and covers a wide range of issues related to isoprenoids: from natural sources of raw materials, chemical synthesis and structural analysis to the molecular, genetic engineering and medical aspects. The Conference has been organized by the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences jointly with the Belarusian State University, the Isoprenoid Society, the Czech Chemical Society, the University of Chemistry and Technology of Prague, the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of Prague, the Institute of Endocrinology of Prague, the Phytochemical Society of Europe, the Institute of Experimental Botany of Prague, the pharmaceutical company TEVA Co. Ltd.
