Exhibition of drawings and descriptions of Livonia by Johann Christoph Brotze is opened in Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library

On 20 February an exhibition of drawings and descriptions of Livonia by Johann Christoph Brotze (1742-1823) from the collection of Academic Library of Latvian University was opened in the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library.

The presentation was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Belarus Martins Virsis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Belarus Milan Ekert, representatives of the leading libraries of Minsk, teachers and students of universities, famous historians, and journalists. The guests noted the importance of cooperation between our states in the field of culture which contributes to the strengthening of friendship and good-neighbourly relations. Venta Kocare, Director of the Academic Library of Latvian University, said that this exhibition had already travelled 15 countries, invariably causing great interest. In Belarus, the exhibition is exhibited for the third time, and for the first time in the capital.

The exhibition will be open for visitors in the hall of the first floor of the library until 30 March. Opening hours are from 9:00 to 19:30.
