On 16 March 2018, a press conference on actual issues of preservation and revival (restoration) of objects of historical and cultural heritage of Belarus was held at the Press Center of the House of Press. From the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus the event was attended by the Deputy Director on scientific work of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Vadim Lakiza and head of the Department of folklore and culture of Slavic peoples of the Center for Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Doctor of Philology Tatiana Volodina.

The participants of the press conference discussed the problems of preserving cultural heritage, which becomes especially important in the Year of Small Motherland, gave positive examples of restoration works, and talked about the problems of using ornaments and folklore in mass culture and souvenir products.
