On 23 April 2018, Pavel Latushko, Ambassador of Belarus in France, met with Sébastien Candel, President of French Academy of Sciences. Pavel Latushko gave an invitation to visit Belarus from the Chairman of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov to the French side. The Belarusian side invites to discuss scientific cooperation and coordination of new directions and mechanisms of joint scientific and technical activities between Belarus and France.

The interlocutors discussed the promising areas of the Belarusian-French cooperation, including research in the field of structural biology and bioorganic chemistry, materials science, and health care based on the use of neutrons, and the study of archaeological artifacts.

As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to prepare mutual contacts at the leadership level of the Academies of Sciences and scientific institutions.
