On 24 April 2018, Sergei Kilin, Vice Chairman of the NASB Presidium, and Andrei Dapkiunas, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, met delegation of the International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics Network (ICRANet) headed by the Director of the Center, Professor Remo Ruffini.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the expansion of international scientific cooperation in the field of relativistic astrophysics, participation of Belarusian scientists in ICRANet programs, joint research and events. R. Ruffini expressed interest in official accession of Belarus to ICRANet and opening of the Center’s office in Minsk. Its branch ICRANet-Minsk opened on the basis of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2017, and the event is considered to be the first stage in this process.

The ICRANet delegation visits Minsk to participate in an international scientific symposium in memory of Yakov Zeldovich, famous scientist born in Minsk.
