20 September 2018 (Thursday), a solemn opening of the Anniversary session of the International Association of Academies of Sciences, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Association will take place in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Heads of academies of sciences of the CIS countries, leading foreign academies, famous scientists will take part in the session. Among the issues to be considered at the IAAS meeting on 20-21 September are priority activities of the Association, amending the Regulations on the International Association of Academies of Sciences, the activities of the IAAS Scientific Councils, the work of the IAAS Organizational and Technical Council. Heads of the academies of sciences will discuss issues of increasing the effectiveness of the work of Councils of Young Scientists of the Academies of Sciences. As a result, a corresponding resolution will be adopted.

The IAAS anniversary session will be held on the platform of the International Congress on Economic Intellectualization. About 500 representatives of research organizations, higher education institutions, government and business from various countries will take part in the scientific and organizational events of the Congress.

The program of the Congress includes five international scientific conferences: "Interacademic cooperation and challenges of our time," "Science-technology-innovation system: methodology, experience and prospects," " Belarus' economic development strategy: challenges, enablers and prospects," "Belarusian science in the context of modernization," and the 17th International Scientific and Technical Conference " Development of Informatization and State System of Scientific and Technical Information (DISTI-2018)."

The United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will host an exposition of the latest developments in artificial intelligence.
