Round table on scientific and analytical support of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in Belt and Road Initiative to be held in National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

23 April 2019, a round table of think tanks of Belarus and China “Scientific and analytical support of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in Belt and Road Initiative” will be held in the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus. The event was organized by the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus and the Research Development Center of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.

The event is aimed to exchange views and discuss topical issues of development of the Chinese-Belarusian Great Stone Industrial Park and the Belarusian-Chinese trust comprehensive strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation. A delegation from Research Development Center of the State Council of the People's Republic of China headed by Vice-President Zhang Junko arrives in Minsk to participate in the round table. Representatives of the leading scientific and expert-analytical centers of the country, which explore various aspects of the Belarusian-Chinese relations, will also attend the event. Those include the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Center for Systems Analysis and Strategic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Belarusian State University (a member of the SiLKS Association), Belarusian National Technical University, Belarusian State Economic University, Belarusian Economic Research Center and etc.

The issues of the round table:
– Current state and prospects for the development of political, trade and economic, credit and investment, interregional, scientific and technological and humanitarian cooperation of the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China;
– Business environment of the Republic of Belarus, actual and potential risks (including commercial, legal, investment, organizational, etc.), that Chinese investors may face in the Republic of Belarus and ways to overcome them;
– Problems of development of the Chinese market by Belarusian producers and attraction of direct Chinese investments;
– Promising mechanisms of international cooperation and formulating proposals for the development of the system of international standards for the Belt and Road Initiative in order to strengthen political dialogue.
