Tribology of threaded joints and stationary contacts of aviation and space systems. pp. 577--584
Summary: The experience of operating aviation and space equpment shows that the tribological problem of threaded joints needs urgent solution. As piloted space flights become more frequent, long-operating space labs are being constructed requiring the supplies of replacement parts and units, it is necessary to develop the processes to produce more durable rubbing surfaces for slow-speed applications.

In-process equpment to maintain regular wear of curvilinear friction surfaces. pp. 606--611
Summary: A regularity of wear of various portions of curvilinear friction surfaces has been established. An analytical relationship between the wear rate and the extent of hardening of friction surfaces is derived. Problems of installation of the equipment necessary to maintain regular modifications of the extent of hardening of machined blanks are treated. It is proposed to introduce electromechanical machining in order to achieve the task.

Numerical modeling of the effect of specific loads on the wear of rotary joints of manipulators. pp. 612--617
Summary: A PC-aided numerical modeling has served to construct the epures of distribution of the expected wear of the members of the rotary pair of a three-joint manipulator. It is recommended to apply wear resistant coatings to rubbing surfaces in the transverse direction in order to promote their durability. The numerical studies using the advanced methods allow to redistribute the coefficients of friction in order to make the rotary joints of the manipulator equally durable in response to the wear of their working surfaces.

Calculation of the nominal pressure of contact between the drilling tools and the borewell face. pp. 618--622
Summary: A tribomechanical problem has been solved in order to determine the contact pressure and the moment of resistance to rotation of the diamond crown after it has run-in to the face of the bore well. The postulates of the mechanics of wear of movable couples have been used for this purpose. The dependencies necessary for calculations have been derived.

Predisplacements in metal-polymer friction pairs. pp. 623--627
Summary: Regularities of the phenomenon of predisplacement under frictional loading of the epoxy polymer by a steel cylindrical counterbody are discussed. The effect of the rate of application of the shearing force, the magnitude and duration of the effect of normal loading on the predisplacement, are analyzed.

Dislocaton model of origination of circular heat fluxes in metals during sliding friction and methods of prevention of seizure. pp. 628--633
Summary: A mechanism is considered how dislocations structure appears in the subsurface layers of friction pairs and the causes of circular heat fluxes. The theory of dislocations has served to develop fundamental methods of preventing seizure of metals during sliding friction.

The role of tribooxidationprocesses in the wear and failure of toos when cutting metals. pp. 644--649
Summary: Problems are considered how the environment influences the performance of high-speed steel cutting tools. The effect of oxygen on the structural transformations of the contact layers of the tools in the process of cutting is analyzed. Recommendations have been elaborated how to use different classes of lubricating coolants for cutting to suit various machining conditions.

Mutual penetration of surface layers of metals during joint plastic deformation. pp. 650--652
Summary: Mutual penetration of molybdenum monocrystals and zinc and the material of the contacting tool has been studied during joint plastic deformation by compression. It is shown that the condition of the surfaces of the specimens before deformation governs the mass transfer between them. Nucleation of the defects in case the surface is damaged before deformation is assumed to initiate microcracking of the subsurface layers and favor the penetration of alien atoms.

Triboengineering characteristics of elastomeric compositions during friction in water environment against fixed abrasives. Part 1. pp. 678--682
Summary: The triboengineering characteristics of IRP-10214 robber have been studied during friction against fixed abrasives flushed with water. It has been established that the conditions of loading and temperatures are the major factors governing the wear resistance of the polymer. It is demonstrated that the lubricating and chemo-mechanical processes in the tribocouple significantly affect wear of the rubber.
