The formation mechanism of nanostructure ceramics based on silicon nitride. II. Two-partial quantum-mechanical model of complex molecules formation. pp. 5--11

Summary: Ceramics on the base of silicon nitride with Si3N4--60 mas.% MoSi2--5 mas.% Y2O3--1.5 mas.% Аl2О3 composition is defined as a complex star-shaped cluster lattice structure with post-shaped cavities of two different sizes. The cavities with superior size are packed with Y2O3 and Al2О3 clusters, and the small-sized cavities are packed with MoSi2 molecules at maximum solubility 5.45 and 70 mas.% respectively. The binding energy of the cluster particles averages ~3.2 and 5.5 eV in mutually perpendicular directions in the aforesaid ceramics, that it is not second to binding energy of clusters in metal structural materials. The conducted experiments confirmed the lightness of the designed model for the nitrogen ceramics formation the cavities of that are packed with MoSi2 molecules and Y2O3, Аl2О3 one as basic clusters. The nanotechnology for the manufacturing of such ceramics has been developed on the base of conducted theoretical and experimental research on nitride ceramics nanostructure formation.

The spatial distributions of atoms in the coatings deposited onto copper using a single beam assisted deposition technique. pp. 35--39

Summary: An original approach and a one beam experimental setup for in situ ion implantation combined with the deposition of various materials on metals are suggested. A simulation system developed makes it possible to characterize ion-assisted deposition, as well as to analyze the radial and depth distribution of atoms deposited and implanted. Results of simulation allow us to conclude that the ion beam energy, the mass and fluence of the ions, and especially the target geometry have a noticeable effect on the processes. Experimental data for the depth profiles of atoms implanted and for the thickness of films applied are also reported. The variation of the film thickness, the uniformity of the films, and the efficiency of mixing in the film-substrate system are discussed based on the results of simulation and experimental data.

On the improvement of raw clays quality. pp. 49--53

Summary: They have examined influence of silica bacterium Bacillus mucilaginosus on clays technological properties of the Republic Belarus of different mineral composition. It is established, that biological processing of clays increases their plastic properties, durability of dry and fired samples and increases containing of fine-grained particles. As a result one can limit cycle of product drying, decrease percentage of drying defect, activate castling process, decrease temperature of product firing and increase products durability.

On some factors specifying the surface quality under magnetorheological polishing. pp. 64--68

Summary: Among the various approaches of non-contact polishing the magnetorheological polishing has found a wide application due to its controllability. The process is based on the peculiarities of the magnetorheological suspension flow in the gap between the surface to be polished and the nonmagnetic carrier surface under the action of magnetic field. The results of polishing experiments show that glass surface roughness (rms) of 0.001 µm and the removal rate up to several microns per minute can be easily obtained even for hard glasses by this method by changing the magnetic field strength.

The investigation and calculation of regulating boundaries for welded joints quality level. pp. 117--124

Summary: Investigations and analysis of welded joints quality inspection by nondestructive testing have been carried out. It is shown that passive testing is only the detector of reject and therefore such type of inspection can not ensure quality of welding and assembling works. To prevent reject operatively and correct the technology one should know the allowed (normative) defects level area. Boundaries of quality level regulation in welding production for basic general populations on quality indexes are calculated. This allows, when defects level grows up to boundary values, to take measures on its elimination and to make a regulating impact on quality.
