The Corresponding Members

The Corresponding Members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus are elected from amongst the well-known scientists being the citizens of the Republic of Belarus, which are brought in the significant contribution to development of a science and enriched it by works of large scientific importance. Their main duty consists in enriching with a science by new achievements by personally carried out scientific research, organizing a collective development of scientific problems and supervising this development. The Corresponding Members should also actively participate in fulfilment of tasks assigned to the Academy.

As a rule, each Corresponding Members is the member of only one Department of the Academy accordingly to his scientific specialty. Those entering simultaneously in two or more Departments have the right to decided vote only in one of them.

The Corresponding Members have the priority right for granting him, by the Presidium of the Academy, the conditions necessary for realization scientific work personally carried out by them and approved by an appropriate Department of the Academy. The Corresponding Members annually represent to the Department the written report on his scientific activity.
