The Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus together with the Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala, on June 24-25, 2021, is holding an important major scientific and public event in the city of Grodno - the International Scientific Conference “German aggression against the USSR (on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the tragedy, the beginning of the Great Patriotic War)”.
The holding of such a forum is aimed at wide involvement of student youth in the research process and coverage of the tragic pages of the history of the Great Patriotic War. The work of the conference in Grodno now is also a great symbolic significance, since this particular Belarusian city was one of the first to fall under the German aggression in 1941.
The event will be attended by over 60 representatives of not only the scientific community, but also the legislative authority, as well as public associations of the Republic of Belarus.
Domestic scientists and teaching stuff in their activities pay great attention to the work aimed at preserving historical truth about the Great Patriotic War. This activity is of particular importance in connection with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus № 1 of January 4, 2021 “oOn declaring 2021 the Year of National Unity”.
