The grand opening of the III Congress “Science, Nutrition and Health” was held at the NAS of Belarus

On June 24, 2021, the grand opening of the III Congress “Science, Nutrition and Health” was held at the NAS of Belarus. The organizer of the event is the Scientific and Practical Center for Food of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Leading scientists and specialists from scientific organizations of the country, representatives of ministries, departments and organizations of the food in processing industry, trade, educational institutions, experts from the Russian Federation (St. Petersburg, Moscow, Veliky Novgorod, Krasnodar, Crimea), Moldova, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov addressed the participants of the Congress with welcoming speech.

The purpose of the Congress is to discuss the problem of nutrition and human health and to find effective ways to ensure and improve the quality of food products, priority development of scientific research in the field of creating food products; development of production technologies aimed at improving the quality of food products and promoting the principles of healthy nutrition in the integration formation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). As part of a significant scientific event, a wide range of urgent problems for modern society was touched upon: the organization and exchange of experience in assessing and predicting the quality and safety of food products at the level of EAEU; discussion of scientific achievements in the field of creating innovative technologies for food; implementation of scientific research in the field of production in circulation of safe and high-quality products as the basis of nutrition and human health; analysis and discussion of current trends in the field of achievements and quality and safety management of food raw materials and products at the international, regional and national levels; popularization of domestic developments in the field of food products for healthy nutrition, including those with reduced content of fats, sugar, salt, as well as specialized and fortified food products.

The Scientific and Practical Center for Food of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the leading scientific organization of the Republic, which provides scientific and technical support for all branches of the food industry. Over a 20-year period, 170 projects, 7158 technological instructions, 12253 new types pf products, recipes have been developed and implemented. More than 350 thousand product studies have been carried out and more than 25 thousand certificates of conformity have been issued, more than 3800 works have been published, 232 patents for inventions, 15 medals and 105 diplomas for participation in exhibitions have been received, 484 scientific and practical conferences and seminars have been held. Production structural divisions have produced more than 250 units of technological equipment. Twice, according to the results of work in 2017 and 2020, the Scientific and Practical Center for Food of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was announced to the laureates at the Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus in the field of quality.
