The II International Research and Practical Conference "Social knowledge in modern society: problems, patterns, prospects" was held at the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on November 4-5.
More than 150 researchers representing leading scientific organizations and institutions of higher education of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and China submitted applications for participation in the conference.
At the plenary session, greetings were addressed to the conference participants from the Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB, Academician V.G. Gusakov and Academician-Secretary of the Department of Humanities and Arts of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Corresponding Member A.A. Kovalenya, in which the relevance and importance of the topics raised at the conference was noted, the need to improve sociological reflection on the problems of our time was stated, tasks were set to develop the capabilities of academic social science.
Academician of the NASB E.M. Babosov, Professor of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics E.V. Kargopolov, Head of the Department of Political Science and Sociology of the Mogilev State University named after A.A. Kuleshov S.N. Likhacheva, junior researcher at the Institute of Sociology V.I. Nadolskaya.
Director of the Institute of Sociology N.L. Myslivets made a presentation on the topic “Regional sociology in Belarus: current state, problems and development prospects”.
Sociologists representing regional institutions of higher education of our country took an active part in the conference. The conference was held within the framework of 5 sections and a round table "COVID-19 as a challenge to modern society: a sociological reading", which considered a wide range of issues on the achievements, problems and prospects for the development of domestic and world sociology.
As a result of the conference, a final Resolution was adopted.
