On December 15, 2021, an award ceremony for the winners of the republican competition of innovative projects was held in Minsk.
Alena Stanchik, senior researcher at the Scientific and Practical Center of the NASB for Materials Science, became the winner in the nomination "The Best Youth Innovative Project" for the project "Flexible solar cells of a new generation". The winner in the Best Innovative Project nomination was Veronika Shchur, Junior Researcher of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the NASB, for the project “Creation of a production site for the production of synthetic DNA for genetic engineering, metabolic engineering and genome editing”. First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB Sergei Chizhik and Chief Scientific Secretary of the NASB Andrei Ivanets took part in the awarding ceremony.
This year, 145 applications have been submitted to the republican competition for innovative projects, including 54 in the Best Innovative Project nomination and 91 in the Best Youth Innovative Project nomination. The largest number of projects was received in the areas of "Informatics, Informatization and Space Research" (26%), "Medical Sciences and Technologies" (18%), "Agricultural Sciences and Technologies" (13%), "Socio-economic, humanities and social sciences "(12%) and" Nature management and ecology "(10%).
The republican competition for innovative projects is annually held by the State Committee for Science and Technology and the Belarusian Innovation Fund with the participation of the Ministry of Education, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and other organizations. Its goal is to create a comprehensive system for encouraging innovations in the country and involving young people in innovative activities.
