On February 23, 2022, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus held a visiting press event on the topic: “The latest and promising developments of the Institute of Powder Metallurgy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Cooperation with scientists and specialists of the Russian Federation”.
The General Director of the State Scientific and Production Association of the Powder Metallurgy, Director of the Institute of Powder Metallurgy Academician Alexander Ilyushchenko told reporters, the institute today is a multidisciplinary and intersectoral scientific organization that deals with the development, research and application of new materials in the field of powder metallurgy, composite and superhard materials, protective coatings, welding, pulse technologies, including explosion welding.
At the moment, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and directly the Institute of Powder Metallurgy, as well as the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys are developing a draft concept for the Additivity-US program of the Union State. According to Alexander Ilyushchenko, at the moment the concept of the program is being agreed with the Russian side. The Belarusian concerned departments have already completed the coordination of the concept, Ilyushchenko said. «Additivity-US» will allow cooperation with Russian centers to create new materials and develop 3D printing.
Scientists and specialists of the institute spoke to representatives of the republican and allied media, who spoke about the latest developments. During the press tour, journalists visited the laboratories and structural divisions of the scientific organization.
