Belarusian scientists elected as foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences

The Russian Academy of Sciences held elections for the members of the Academy of Sciences, including the foreign members.

Well-known Belarusian scientists have been elected foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS):
Doctor of Geography, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Vladimir Fedorovich Loginov, a scientist in the field of geography and geophysics, chief researcher of the State Scientific Institution «Institute of Nature Management of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus», was elected in the specialty «Climatology»;
in the specialty «Physics and Astronomy» – Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Poklonsky Nikolai Aleksandrovich, a scientist in the field of mathematical and computer modeling of the structure and properties of the low-dimensional semiconductor systems and elements of device structures based on them, Professor of the Department of Physics of Semiconductors and Nanoelectronics of the Belarusian State University;
in the specialty «Cardiology» - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Snezhitsky Viktor Aleksandrovich, Professor of the Department of the Educational Establishment «Grodno State Medical University», a scientist in the field of cardiology.

The Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus sent congratulations to the newly elected foreign members of the RAS. Foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences are elected the largest foreign scientists who have received recognition from the world scientific community. Foreign members of the RAS are elected by the General Meeting of the RAS. This year, almost 50 foreign researchers became new foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
