On July 12, 2022, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Belarus Santiago Perez Benítez visited the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. As the part of the visit, a visit to the permanent exhibition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus «Achievements of Science for Production» was organized, where Mr. Ambassador was acquainted with the latest developments of the Belarusian scientists.

During the meeting with the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus V.G. Gusakov, the parties noted the need to intensify the cooperation between our countries in a number of areas: in the field of biotechnology, chemical sciences, IT, agricultural sciences, and electric transport. There was an exchange of information on achievements in these scientific fields, agreements were reached on the development of the opportunities and mechanisms for organizing the joint activities, signing relevant road maps.

The parties also agreed to hold a joint Belarusian-Cuban event in the field of biotechnology at the end of July 2022 as part of a visit of the delegation from the Finlay Vaccine Institute to the Republic of Belarus.
