Rosatom's integrator in the field of the electric energy storage systems – RENERA LLC (part of the Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL) and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus have agreed to cooperate in the development of the energy storage systems to provide a production and technological base and increase the number of used vehicles on electric traction price in Republic of Belarus.

During a visit to the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, representatives of LLC «RENERA» got acquainted with the permanent exhibition «Achievements of Science for Production». During the meeting with the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov, General Director of RENERA LLC Alexander Kamashev drew attention to Belarusian developments in the field of graphite materials, sodium-ion batteries, as well as battery recycling, heat removal technologies, protection against electromagnetic radiation. At the meeting, it was emphasized that the parties are ready and support the need for a draft five-year program of the Union State to create a joint electric car.

Representatives of LLC «RENERA» also visited the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Materials Science, State Scientific Institution «Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus», State Scientific Institution «A.V.Lykov Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus», where the issues of the creating joint Russian-Belarusian energy storage devices for the electric transport industry were discussed in detail, as well as the possibility of the moving to a phased localization of the production of the energy storage systems using the technology of LLC «RENERA» on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, taking into account regional specifics and specialization of manufacturing enterprises.

Mutual visits are scheduled in the near future to work out the necessary joint steps for the near future.
