The architectural heritage of Iosif Langbard was discussed at the Center for Studies of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

On October 6, 2022, an international scientific conference «Architectural heritage of I.G. Langbard and Modernity», dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of I.G. Langbard.

Representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, BNTU and other specialized organizations made presentations at the plenary session. The reports devoted to the life and creative heritage of I.G. Langbard – an outstanding architect, Honored Art Worker of the BSSR, the author of the iconic buildings of Belarus of the Soviet period, including the buildings of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Government House, the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater, the House of Officers. The presentation of the materials of the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation took place. Previously unpublished archival materials from the life and work of I. Langbard were presented. The conference participants also raised issues of protection, accounting, restoration and modernization of architectural monuments of the 20th century, which are part of the historical and cultural heritage of Belarus.

The conference was attended by the researchers from Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan.The presented reports will be published as a collection of conference materials.
