The purpose of the contest is to reveal and encourage the most effectively working scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2022, who have significant personal achievements in the research activities, made a significant contribution to the development of the scientific and innovation activity in the Republic of Belarus, strengthening of the international image of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, training of the most highly qualified scientific personnel.

The following participants can take part in the competition:
- full members (academicians) and corresponding members;
- researchers of higher qualification working in the scientific organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus as their main place of work.

The right to nominate the candidates for the title «Scientist of the Year of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus – 2022» possess the members of the Bureau of the Presidium of NAS of Belarus, academic secretaries of the Departments of the Academy of Sciences.

The Regulations of the Contest, the form of the questionnaire of the Contest participant and indicators of his/her scientific activity are presentedhere.
