On October 25-26, the VIII Belarusian Space Congress will be held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

On October 25, 2022 at 10.00 on the basis of the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Minsk, Surganova St., 6) the opening ceremony of the VIII Belarusian Space Congress will take place.

The organizers are the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Space Research Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. From 9.00 on October 25, 2022 (during the work of the congress), in the lobby of the first floor of the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, an exhibition of scientific and technical space products will be held following the results of the implementation of scientific and technical programs and projects in the field of space, as well as an exposition of technical and scientific – popular literature on space topics. At the forum on October 25-26, 2022, on the basis of the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the A.V.Lykov Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (P. Brovki str., 15) it is planned to hear more than 120 presentations by scientists and specialists from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, China and Uzbekistan.

It is planned that a large delegation of the Russian Federation will take part in the work of the Congress. Representatives of the state corporation Roscosmos, the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as enterprises and organizations working in the field of space technologies will come to Minsk.
The goals of the congress are:
- discussion of new achievements in the space field, determination of priority areas for the development of space activities;
- strengthening of international cooperation in the field of space research and the use of outer space for peaceful purposes;
- expansion of joint efforts of Belarusian and foreign business circles, firms, companies, scientists and specialists aimed at the implementation of space programs and projects, analysis of the progress of their implementation and selection of promising areas for further research;
- development of partnerships between government and public organizations, enterprises and organizations of various forms of ownership in the use of space facilities and technologies in the interests of various sectors of the economy.

The work of the congress will be held within the framework of five sections:
1. Innovative programs, projects and technologies in the rocket and space industry. Using the results of space activities in the interests of various sectors of the economy.
2. Space vehicles, target and scientific equipment. Systems of navigation and time support, satellite communications and broadcasting.
3. Means, technologies and methods for processing and displaying Earth remote sensing data, geoservices based on them. Artificial intelligence in space technologies.
4. Technologies of education and training for the space industry.
5. Thermophysical aspects of practical astronautics, promising materials, elements and devices for space technology.
