The Institute of Physics named after B.I. Stepanov of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus invite on December 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. to take part in the presentation of the book «Corresponding Member A.A. Afanasyev: a life inspired by a dream...» (Publishing house «Belaruskaya Navuka», 2022).

The book highlights the life and creative path in science of the famous Belarusian physicist and organizer of science, statesman, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus (2006–2014), corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Anatoly Afanasyev (1942–2020). The book presents scientific papers, interviews, memoirs of the contemporaries, archival documents and rare photographs revealing the life path and multifaceted activities of the scientist.

The presentation will feature an exhibition of works by A.A. Afanasyev, an author's documentary about the work of the Institute of Physics named after B.I. Stepanov. Friends and colleagues will share their memories of the scientist.

The presentation will be held at the address: Minsk, Surganova str., 15, Central National Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Information and Exhibition Center, room 110.
