In the period from February 26 to March 2, 2023, a delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus under the leadership of the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Academician S.A. Chizhik, visited the Arab Republic of Egypt in order to work out issues of developing cooperation with a number of research institutions in Egypt.

An agreement was reached with the leadership of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology of Egypt (ASRT) to intensify scientific and technical cooperation in the field of water purification, prevention of desertification, genetics, crop production, metallurgy, etc. It was decided to develop a roadmap for cooperation between the two Academies of Sciences, which is planned to be signed during the upcoming visit of President of the ASRT M. Sacra to Belarus in 2023.
The delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus also visited the National Research Center of Egypt, the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and other research organizations. Following the results of negotiations with the leadership of these organizations, priority areas of cooperation for the near future have been identified, which will contribute to mutually beneficial cooperation between the organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus with Egyptian colleagues, including promotion of Belarusian scientific and technical products on the Egyptian market.
