In the first days of July, Minsk hosted the Russia - Belarus. Crimes of the Nazis Have No Statute of Limitations youth forum, which was attended by 100 young specialists from Belarus and activists of the No Statute of Limitations project from Russia.
The program of the forum included educational platforms with the participation of experts, historians, museum workers, and searchers. The participants from the two countries got acquainted with projects for the preservation of historical memory in Russia and Belarus, shared their experience in the judicial and legal assessment of Nazi crimes in the occupied territory of the USSR, talked about information work in the field of patriotism and the preservation of historical memory.
On July 2, the grand opening of the forum took place at the NAS. Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Yelena Tsunayeva, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vyacheslav Danilovich delivered welcoming speeches at the forum. During the opening ceremony, Vladimir Gusakov stressed that today one of the most important tasks facing the public is to prevent the revision of the results of the Great Patriotic War, which took 27 million lives from the Soviet people, and the life of one in three from Belarus. "It is important that the younger generation knows the truth about that terrible war, the role of genuine liberators who made a decisive contribution to the Great Victory. Only through joint efforts it is possible to preserve the national state heritage, to educate the younger generation in patriotic qualities and a civic position," Vladimir Grigoryevich stressed.
An exhibition with an audio guide was also presented for the first time, which contains materials confirming the genocide in Russia and Belarus during the Great Patriotic War
On July 3, the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, the participants visited the parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders, the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, and then the results of the forum were summed up in the National Library of Belarus.
The Forum is organized by the Search Movement of Russia All-Russian Social Movement with the support of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Institute of History of the NAS of Belarus, the Scientific and Practical Centre for Strengthening Law and Order of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus.
