Dear colleagues!

On behalf of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus!

February 23 is a significant date symbolizing strength and courage, fortitude and patriotism. For our country, whose history has seen many fateful military trials, this holiday has quite naturally become a national holiday. Such qualities as love for the Motherland, loyalty to the oath and military valor are enduring values ​​in all centuries.

This holiday unites all our citizens for whom the highest values ​​are the independence of our state, peace and prosperity in their native land, who not only with weapons in hand, but also with everyday work strengthen the power of the Motherland, work for the people and in the name of the people.

2025 – Year of Improvement of the Five-Year Quality Plan. Achieving high quality scientific results, domestic products, and services is a determining factor in strengthening the national economy and the country's security.  

Today, scientists from the NAS of Belarus, together with representatives from other fields, are actively working to increase the scientific, innovative and technological potential of our state.

Highly qualified experts have repeatedly emphasized that Belarusian researchers and developers have been able to create many examples of breakthrough devices, machines and equipment that are no worse than foreign analogues and cheaper in cost. Therefore, in all respects, Belarus is ready to protect its scientific and innovative independence and the possibility of peaceful development. It is important that science-intensive products in various fields are capable of solving advanced tasks. And our science is in line with this trend.

Many employees of the Academy of Sciences have served in the armed forces, have military ranks and awards. We are always ready to defend the Motherland. However, in the 21st century, all conflicts must be resolved through negotiations, the language of diplomacy, and the development of comprehensive mutually beneficial cooperation.

I wish you health, prosperity, happiness to your loved ones and relatives, confidence in tomorrow and bright hopes for the future, cheerfulness of spirit, creative inspiration and inexhaustible energy!
