On March 20, 2025 at 14.30, at Kondrat Krapiva Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore of the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the NAS of Belarus (Surganov str., 1 Bldg. 2, Room 302) there will be a meeting of the film lecture "Screen and Time" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, entitled "Lev Golub's Golden Collection: Volodya" with a screening of the feature film "The Street of the Younger Son" (Belarusfilm, 1962).
Lev Golub is a classic of Soviet cinema, director, screenwriter, People's Artist of the BSSR (1964). Children's feature films by L. Golub arouse genuine interest in today's viewers. They teach them honesty, courage, fortitude, loyalty to one's word and deed.
The war drama-novel "The Street of the Younger Son" (1962) is a screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by Lev Kassil and Max Polyanovsky, dedicated to the feat of the young pioneer hero Volodya Dubinin, and was dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the formation of the All-Union Pioneer Organization. The literary story, based on real events, was published in 1949, translated into the languages of many countries of the world, and in 1951 Lev Kassil was awarded the title of third-degree Stalin Prize laureate for it.
