On March 18-23, 2025, a delegation of the NAS of Belarus headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Sergei Chizhik paid an official visit to China.
At Harbin Institute of Technology, negotiations were held with the head of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering of HIT Gao Haibo on the creation of a joint laboratory within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative "Advanced Energy Conversion Technologies", as well as representatives of Harbin Power Plant Valve Company Limited of Harbin Electrical Engineering Corporation on promising areas of cooperation in applying coatings for various purposes to engine and pump components. Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Intent was signed to establish a joint laboratory between the Physical and Technical Institute of the NAS of Belarus and Harbin Polytechnic University. On March 20, 2025, a delegation from the NAS of Belarus took part in a conference organized by Heilongjiang Provincial Aviation Industry Technology Research Institute and Harbin Polytechnic University. Within the framework of the conference, an agreement on cooperation in aviation equipment was signed between Harbin Polytechnic University, Guanglian Joint Research Institute and the Physical and Technical Institute of the NAS of Belarus. The delegation visited the Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and was introduced to the main areas of activity. On March 22, 2025, the delegation of the NAS of Belarus visited the National United Engineering Center for Microsatellite Technologies and their Applications, the Key Laboratory of Micronanosystems for Aerospace Applications, the National Key Laboratory for Basic Design of Aircraft, and the National Key Laboratory for Materials Science. During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the main developments in the aerospace field, MEMS and materials science. Also, part of the delegation headed by the Director of the Institute of Chemistry of New Materials of the NAS of Belarus A. Rogachev visited Xi'an University of Microelectronics. During the visit, the delegation members were introduced to the main developments in microelectronics. On March 23, 2025, the delegation of the NAS of Belarus took part in the Bilateral Conference on Promoting Cooperation, organized by the North-West Polytechnic University. During the conference, the head of the Department of Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province Jian Jianchun expressed support for the creation of a branch of the NAS of Belarus in China, and organizational issues of its creation were discussed. Following the conference, an Agreement was signed on the establishment of a joint laboratory for advanced aerospace design and application within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative between the North-West Polytechnic University and the NAS of Belarus.
