Congratulations on National Unity Day from the Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Vladimir Karanik
Dear colleagues, dear friends!
On behalf of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and myself, I congratulate you on National Unity Day!
This date, symbolizing the reunification of the Belarusian lands in 1939, has profound historical significance. On this day, we turn to the past to better understand the present and confidently build the future. Remembering the events of 1939, the hopes and aspirations of the people who greeted the Red Army as liberators, is more than just a tribute to history. It is a fundamental lesson in the value of unity and the importance of preserving sovereignty.
The Belarusian people have endured the most difficult trials: the devastating wars of the 20th century, the period of difficult reforms in the 1990s, and yet each new generation has contributed to building a strong and independent country.
Today, amid growing global instability, the unity of the Belarusian people is especially valuable. We see the chaos of social upheaval engulfing other countries, clearly demonstrating the danger of discord and division. In contrast, Belarus strives to build a harmonious society where every person matters, where respect for individuality is combined with a commitment to the common good. The idea of "being masters of our own land" is a fundamental principle of our society's development, which requires each citizen to recognize their responsibility for the future of their country and understand that only through unity and cooperation can we preserve peace and prosperity for future generations.
Let National Unity Day serve as a reminder that only through united efforts can we preserve national sovereignty.
May our native Belarus always be prosperous, life peaceful, and its people happy!
I wish you good health, continued success, and the strength to create!
Vladimir KARANIK,
Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus
