The scientist received this prestigious award for his significant personal contribution to the development of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, his outstanding achievements in scientific and research activities, and in honor of his 80th birthday.
Vladimir Karanik expressed his gratitude to Alexander Kovalenya for his fruitful work and personal contribution to the development of historical science. "We celebrate not only your anniversary—a significant date for every person—but also 55 years of your scientific and pedagogical career, more than 20 years of work at the NAS of Belarus, including more than 15 as Academician-Secretary of the Department of Humanities and Arts. Over these years, you have authored more than 450 scientific papers and trained hundreds and thousands of students, whom you have raised to be true scholars and patriots," he said. – Throughout all these years, you have maintained your loyalty to science, your loyalty to your country, your loyalty to historical memory, and you have done everything to ensure that no one could rewrite history or diminish the heroism of our people in the Great Patriotic War. By your personal example, you have shown how to defend the interests of your country and your people. This deserves the greatest respect." Today, warm words and congratulations to Aleksandr Kovalena on his 80th birthday are being expressed by guests, colleagues, friends, and his students.
