The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus announces the 2026 competition for the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Prizes.
The Academy of Sciences of Belarus has established eight prizes for the best scientific work in the following areas:
Applicants for the NAS of Belarus awards may be citizens of the Republic of Belarus – individual scientists or teams of scientists (no more than three people) who have published research results in monographs and series of articles in leading scientific journals, and who have carried out developments, the practical implementation of which, taken together, reflects the solution of a significant scientific and/or practical problem.
The work nominated for the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Prize must have been completed and its results published within the last five years. In special cases, earlier, more important, thematically related publications and other research results may be included in the cycle. Autoabstracts and dissertation manuscripts are not included in the competition materials.
Academicians and Corresponding Members of the NAS of Belarus (in their respective areas), scientists, and scientific and technical councils of organizations within the Academy of Sciences have the right to nominate works for NAS of Belarus awards. Work may be nominated by scientists or scientific and technical councils of other organizations in the Republic of Belarus, including higher education institutions or their schools, jointly with a scientist or scientific and technical council of a NAS of Belarus organization.
Organizations and individuals who have nominated candidates for the awards must submit the following set of materials:
in the case of the work being proposed by an organization - an extract from the meeting of the scientific (scientific and technical) council of the organization on the proposal of the work (cycle of works) with a justification of the significance of the results of the proposed work for science and practice. When a work is proposed by an organization of the NAS of Belarus jointly with a scientific organization of another departmental subordination or an institution of higher education, extracts from meetings of the scientific (scientific and technical) councils of both organizations are submitted;
in the case of a work being proposed by a member of the NAS of Belarus – a recommendation from an academician or corresponding member with a justification of the significance of the results of the proposed work for science and practice;
the work nominated for the prize: thematically related monographs, other book publications, copies of articles, patents, materials confirming the practical development of the results of the work, which collectively reflect the solution of a significant scientific and/or practical problem;
an abstract of the work of approximately three pages of standard typewritten text, signed by the authors, including the following information: title of the work; full name, academic degree, rank, position and place of work of each member of the authors' collective; statement of the problem and its relevance, solutions, results obtained;
a brief summary of the work in Belarusian, no more than one page in length, indicating the title of the work, full names, academic degrees, titles, and place of work of the members of the author's team (for works written in Russian);
a brief statement of the research results (no more than 450 characters);
a certified list of publications included in the work and lists of works published by each author;
a certificate of the personal contribution of each member of the author's team, signed by all co-authors of the work (cycle of works);
information about the author/authors (last name, first name, patronymic; date, month and year of birth; place of birth; education (which higher education institution graduated from and when), educational specialty; academic degree and academic title; position held indicating place of work and year of taking up the position; awards (indicating the date of award); past work; main areas of scientific activity; total number of publications; supervision of graduate students and applicants; home and work addresses, contact phone numbers.
One copy of materials marked "For the 2026 NAS of Belarus Prize" must be submitted by October 1, 2026, to the Prizes, Scholarships, and Awards Department of the Main Directorate for Personnel and Personnel Policy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus at: 66 Independence Av., Offices 317 and 406, Minsk, 220072.
