The Constitution as the legal foundation of a sovereign state – the first Youth Readings were held at the NAS of Belarus

Today, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus hosted the first Youth Readings on the topic "The Constitution as the Legal Foundation of a Sovereign State," organized by the Youth Council under the House of Representatives of the National Assembly. Representatives of the student community, university and academic research, as well as the country's judiciary and parliamentarians, participated in the event. Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, addressed the guests and participants. He noted that today's meeting is taking place at a significant time, when the country celebrated one of its most important holidays – Constitution Day.

"The Constitution laid a solid legal foundation for independence and fulfilled the centuries-old aspiration of the Belarusian people to be the rightful masters of their native land. The most important value, around which all norms and provisions of the country's Basic Law are built, is the individual, their rights, and freedoms. It is precisely to ensure these that all the efforts of the state and society are directed today," said the head of the Academy of Sciences. "The state promotes the spiritual, moral, intellectual, and physical development of young people, creating the necessary conditions for their free and effective participation in public life, and realizing the potential of young people in the interests of all society."

It's worth noting that the NAS of Belarus employs approximately 2,000 young scientists who demonstrate outstanding achievements on level with their more experienced colleagues. Their work has been recognized both at the Academy of Sciences level and has received state and international awards. Many members of the Council of Young Scientists hold leadership positions and set trends in cutting-edge research at industry institutes and industrial associations.

"We want our youth to generate interesting ideas, so that together we can ensure the continuity of generations, preserve the historical memory and traditions of our people, and build a bright future for our country," said Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus. "Our goal is to ensure that you feel like full members of society, influence decisions, and make a significant contribution to the country's development today. Because youth is the source of youthful energy and creativity." However, creativity alone, as the head of the Academy of Sciences emphasized, is not enough: in today's world, success awaits only those who work hard and strive for self-improvement every day. In closing, he wished all participants productive work and interesting and memorable interactions.
