Young scientists from the NAS of Belarus presented their developments at the "100 Ideas for Belarus" competition
The final round of the "100 Ideas for Belarus" competition is taking place today at the National Children's Technopark in Minsk. This year, young scientists from the NAS of Belarus submitted 20 projects. Among the developments: polymer screens for radiation protection; intelligent irrigation systems; tomato hybrids with high antioxidant properties; cocoa shell processing technology; wear-resistant coatings; a drug testing platform, and more.
Vasily Gursky, Chief Scientific Secretary of the NAS of Belarus, addressed the guests and participants of the competition with a welcoming speech. He noted that the pool of developments is expanding every year. "More and more applications are being received in microelectronics, unmanned systems, genetics, ecology, and medical technologies. These are precisely the areas that shape the country's technological sovereignty today," he said.
Vasily Gursky also reported that the system for supporting talented young people is working effectively and is being improved at the state level. In particular, talented and gifted young people can apply for Presidential grants in science, education, healthcare, culture, and youth policy, scholarships for graduate students and talented young scientists, and inclusion in the presidential youth special fund. "Belarus is interested in you and your ideas," said the Chief Scientific Secretary of the NAS of Belarus.
The "100 Ideas for Belarus" project is being implemented by BRYU jointly with the Ministry of Education, the NAS of Belarus, and the State Committee for Science and Technology. The project aims to foster innovative thinking among young people, engage them in addressing the country's social and economic development challenges, and encourage civic initiatives to implement innovative projects and scientific and technical developments.
