The India-Belarus Pharmaceutical Business Forum opened in Minsk
The India-Belarus Pharmaceutical Business Forum has opened in Minsk. It is attended by approximately 150 representatives from the pharmaceutical industries of Belarus and India, as well as from scientific, banking, and healthcare sectors. Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, is the event's guest of honor.
In his welcoming remarks, the head of the Academy of Sciences stated that direct contacts with Indian manufacturers provide Belarusian pharmaceutical companies with the opportunity to continuously purchase everything necessary for the production of a wide range of domestically produced medicines.
A striking example of successful collaboration is the cooperation between the state-owned enterprise “ACADEMPHARM” and two major pharmaceutical manufacturers, Cipla Ltd. and Reliance Life Sciences.
A key area of cooperation is deepening technological collaboration in the following areas: secondary packaging of Indian drugs at the enterprise's facilities; technology transfer in the production of generic drugs from leading Indian manufacturers; the organization of joint production sites; and contract manufacturing for subsequent export to the EAEU market.
Vladimir Karanik also announced that the NAS of Belarus will soon establish an International Research Center in Pharmaceuticals. Its responsibilities will include conducting research, including for international clients; preparing and reviewing registration dossiers in accordance with EAEU regulations; developing pilot production technologies; and developing and validating new methods for monitoring raw materials and finished dosage forms.
"The creation of such a center will close the technological cycle: from the procurement of raw materials in India to the production of a finished, high-tech product with a high degree of localization, which will strengthen the position of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the pharmaceutical market and contribute to ensuring the technological sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus in the healthcare sector," said the Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus. The Forum was organized by Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Pharmaceutical Export Development Council of India, and the Embassy of the Republic of India in the Republic of Belarus.
