A meeting on eliminating unfair brokerage practices was held at the NAS of Belarus

Around one hundred representatives of academic organizations and institutions took part in a meeting on eliminating unfair and unjustified brokerage practices, which was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Addressing the event's participants, Vasily Gursky, Chief Scientific Secretary of the NAS of Belarus, noted that the main goal of the meeting was to enhance competencies by obtaining up-to-date information in this area. "This issue has a significant impact on the development of a wide range of areas: from the economy, where domestic goods gain a competitive advantage, to legal regulation, the eradication of corruption, and the creation of a clear, transparent system for the functioning of government agencies and organizations," he said.

Vasily Gursky emphasized that improving the qualifications of academic specialists is the most important area of activity for the NAS of Belarus. "The National Academy of Sciences is making every effort to eradicate unjustified intermediation. On the one hand, this involves scientists in scientific discussions and discourse on regulatory matters, and on the other, it optimizes procurement processes, both for our organizations and for potential customers. We have already completed some preliminary work to assess the legal regulation of legal intermediation, and we have also conducted a general analysis of the procurement situation," stated the Chief Scientific Secretary of the Academy of Sciences.

Speakers at the event included representatives of the State Control Committee, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Export Support Center.

As a reminder, on March 12, the Head of State held a meeting on measures to eliminate unjustified and unfair brokerage. Alexander Lukashenko demanded a clear distinction between justified and unjustified brokering, including in agriculture.
