The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Institute of Materials Science of Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology held a technical workshop via videoconference today. The Belarusian side was represented at the event by specialists from leading academic research institutions, including the Institute of Chemistry of New Materials and the Scientific and Practical Center for Materials Science.
Opening the meeting, Sergei Tikhomirov, Deputy Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science at the NAS of Belarus, noted the long-standing and strong partnership between scientific organizations and institutions in Belarus and Vietnam. He emphasized the shared belief in both countries that scientific progress and innovation are key drivers of economic growth in the modern world.
"Scientific cooperation between the countries not only strengthens ties between scientists and researchers but also aims to solve practical problems that contribute to the economic development of Belarus and Vietnam," said Sergei Tikhomirov.
During the workshop, presentations were made on promising areas for joint work, including laser physics and the development of thin-film, magnetic, magnetoelectric, and superconducting materials. These areas are of mutual interest for further Belarusian-Vietnamese scientific and technical cooperation.
