A meeting dedicated to the development of the International Wildlife Research Center was held in the National Park “Belovezhskaya Pushcha”

Key topics of the meeting included European bison population conservation, breeding efforts, and strengthening international scientific cooperation.

Meeting participants discussed long-term biodiversity protection strategies that will be implemented at both the regional and national levels.

Particular attention was paid to breeding work, which is the foundation for maintaining the health and stable population of European bison.

Academy of Sciences of Belarus, noted the high level of interaction between government agencies and the scientific community. According to him, biodiversity conservation is a key focus for the country's leadership.

"It's very gratifying that the development of scientific research in our country is the responsibility not only of the Academy of Sciences but also of all government agencies. The Presidential Property Management Department actively cooperates with scientists to ensure high-quality progress in our research and development," he said.

Vladimir Karanik also emphasized the profound responsibility of the current generation to their descendants.

"We didn't inherit this land from our fathers; we borrowed it from our grandchildren. And now it's up to all of us to decide how we'll pass it on to the next generation," said the head of the Academy of Sciences.

The new research center is intended to become a key platform for the development of nature conservation within the system of state environmental institutions and specialized institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, as well as an important venue for international cooperation, where advanced solutions for nature conservation and biodiversity will be discussed.
