Vladimir Karanik, head of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, held a meeting with employees of cultural institutions, social welfare institutions, and ideological activists in Novogrudok district. The meeting was held as part of a unified information day: "Ensuring Life Safety: From Cyberattacks to Road Safety."
"Fraudsters impact not through complex technical tricks, but primarily through psychology. They exploit our weaknesses: fear, trust, the desire to help—and they target the most vulnerable groups, especially children and the elderly. The former lack sufficient life experience, while the latter lose critical thinking in stressful situations, especially when it comes to loved ones," Vladimir Karanik emphasized.
The head of the National Academy of Sciences also focused on children's digital literacy. He emphasized the need to educate the younger generation about the risks associated with sharing confidential data, such as account passwords, bank card details, and information about family savings.
"It's easier to prevent a problem than to deal with its consequences later. That's why it's so important to share these rules with your children, parents, and neighbors. Safety is a shared responsibility, and it starts with each of us," noted Vladimir Karanik.
Vladimir Karanik emphasized that he always enjoys visiting Grodno region, noting its development and, most importantly, the people who live and work there. Therefore, the life safety in all its spheres is particularly relevant today.
