The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is hosting the International Congress of Young Specialists in Plant Biology and Ecology
The event is supported by the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member states.
More than a hundred young scientists are participating in the project, including from Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
The focus is on the future of biodiversity.
The key objective of the congress is to develop innovative methods for environmental monitoring and biodiversity analysis.
Young scientists will discuss the mechanisms of ecological adaptation of wild species, issues of ensuring ecosystem safety, and principles of sustainable human interaction with the natural environment.
Deputy Chairman of the NAS Presidium Petr Kazakevich addressed the guests and participants with a welcoming speech. He emphasized that the congress is not only theoretical discussions but also intensive practical work. "We strive to provide young professionals with the tools to solve global challenges: from restoring rare plant populations to developing strategies for sustainable environmental management in the Commonwealth," said Petr Kazakevich.
During the plenary session of the congress, V. Kuprevich Institute of Experimental Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus signed agreements on scientific and technical cooperation with A. Takhtadzhyan Institute of Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, E. Gareyev Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, and the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
