Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Alexei Trukhanov held a working meeting with a delegation from NPU, led by Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office Li Ziwei
The key topic of the meeting was the development of joint initiatives and the work of the Academy of Sciences' representative office in Xi'an, China.
Alexey Trukhanov recalled that the parties have already approved a roadmap including 14 joint projects. He stated that it is now important to review it and assess the current status of these initiatives.
Particular attention was paid to finding new points of common ground, including at the provincial level. "Belarus and China are building their relations on the basis of an all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership, which creates a solid foundation for the implementation of the most ambitious scientific and technological ideas and contributes to strengthening the technological sovereignty of both countries," emphasized Alexei Trukhanov.
A separate topic was the upcoming meeting of the Council of the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS), scheduled for the fall in Xi'an.
Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vasily Gursky expressed confidence that, thanks to coordinated work with his Chinese colleagues, the event will be held at the highest level.
