Pripyat Polesie, the village of Antonov in Narovlya District of Gomel Region, the picturesque banks of the Slovechna River — it was here, during a recent expedition, that scientists from the History Institute under Belarus’ National Academy of Sciences discovered the surviving stone structures of a defensive castle dating from the 16th–17th centuries, never before described in academic literature.
