The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus announces a competition in 2021 for:
- prizes named after Academician Zhores Alferov for young scientists of the NAS of Belarus (in total, 2 prizes are awarded in the field of physics, mathematics, computer science, physical-technical and technical sciences);
- prizes named after Academician V.F. Kuprevich for young scientists of the NAS of Belarus (in total, 4 prizes are awarded in the field of biology, chemistry and the Earth sciences, medicine and agricultural sciences);
- a prize named after U.M. Ihnatouski for young scientists of the NAS of Belarus (1 prize is awarded in the field of humanities and social sciences).
Prizes are awarded for a separate scientific work or a set of works united by a single topic. Prize seekers can be young scientists (independently or as part of a group of authors of no more than 3 people) under the age of 35 as of January 1, 2021, who work in the organizations of the NAS of Belarus in the main place, have published the results of their research over the past 5 years (2017-2021 years). Scientists (scientific and technical) councils of the organizations of the NAS of Belarus have the right to nominate works for awards.
When nominating candidates for a prize for young scientists, a set of the following documents is prepared in one copy:
- an accompany list of the organization on the nomination of work for the award;
- extract from the minutes of the meeting of the scientific (scientific and technical) council of the organization with justification of the significance of the results of the proposed work for science and practice;
- work proposed for competition: a separate scientific work (a monograph, an article) or thematically related monographs, other book publications, copies of articles, patents, materials, which confirm the practical development of the results of the work, in aggregate reflect the solutions of scientific and/or practical problem;
- the abstract of the work is about three pages of text, signed by the author(s), which includes the following data: title of the work; full name, academic degree, title, position and place of work of each of the members of the group of authors; statement of the problem and its relevance, solutions, results obtained;
- the short abstract of the work in the Belarusian language, no more than one page of text, indicating the title of the work; full names, academic degrees, titles and place of the members of the group of authors (for works executed in Russian);
- information about the author author(s) – Curriculum vitae;
- a certified list of publications included in the work and a list of works published by each author;
- a certificate of the personal contribution of each member of the group of authors, signed by all co-authors of the work;
- a copy of 25, 31-33 pages of the author’s passport (each of the members of the team of authors).
A set of documents of applicants with the inscription “For the competition for prizes for young scientists name _____________2021” in one copy is sent until October 1, 2021, the Prizes, Scholarships and Awards of the Main Directorate of Personal Policy of the NAS of Belarus and the address: Independence Ave. 66, 220072, Republic of Belarus, Minsk (offices 317, 406).
