Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus took part in the Russian-Belarusian expert-media forum «Belarus and Russia Peoples Unity: from a shared past to a shared future».

The event was organized by the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Historical Memory Foundation, the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the International Media Group Russia Today. The first deputy chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Academician Sergey Chizhik, addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech.

Within the framework of the plenary forum, the current state of Russian-Belarusian cooperation in the field of preserving historical memory was analyzed, as well as the possibilities of implementing joint educational, exhibition and other initiatives in the humanitarian sphere were discussed. The event was attended by representatives of Russian and Belarusian state bodies, scientific institutions, higher educational institutions, archives, educational organizations.
