As a follow-up to the agreements reached during the visit of the Belarusian delegation of government bodies to New Delhi in November 2022 (First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus S.A. Chizhik participated on behalf of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus), an Agreement on cooperation in the field of science and technology between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and CSIR is being prepared. In order to complete the cooperation program on the basis of this agreement, the parties agreed to hold 4 joint seminars: in the field of biomedical, chemical, physical and technical sciences with the participation of organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and CSIR aimed at forming joint projects in advanced branches of science.

On January 19, 2023, the first of a series of joint seminars between the organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research of India (CSIR), dedicated to biological and medical sciences, was held, attended by more than 40 scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and CSIR. The parties made presentations on promising areas for the development of Belarusian-Indian cooperation, namely genomics and molecular medicine, microbial resources and biotechnologies, the use of medicinal plants for stress and diabetes, toxicology, etc.

As a result of the seminar, an agreement was reached on the joint preparation of project proposals in the field of biological and medical sciences at the level of specific performers from Indian and Belarusian organizations.

The next joint seminar between the organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and CSIR, dedicated to cooperation in the field of physics and IT technologies, is scheduled for February 2, 2023.
