On January 20–21, 2025, the NAS of Belarus hosted the National Conference of Students “First Step into Science”. The organizer of the forum is the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Belarus. As the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Belarus Stanislav Yuretsky emphasized on the sidelines of the forum: "We are holding this conference for the second time. It is aimed at stimulating school students' interest in scientific research activities. It is held in all the main scientific areas that exist in our country and in world science as a whole, that is, in the humanities and natural sciences. Last year there were about 200 participants, this year - more than 700, that is, an increase of more than three times. Almost half of the participants are future humanitarians. They have a great interest in history, including the history of the Great Patriotic War, in sociology, in Belarusian culture, language and literature."

The conference was timed to the Day of Belarusian Science and was held with the aim of finding students interested in scientific research and developing skills in presenting the results of research activities. Young researchers got acquainted with the exhibition "Domestic Humanities - to Society", scientific and technical developments of young scientists, presented reports in agricultural, biological, medical, humanitarian, physical and technical, physical and mathematical, chemical sciences at sections in scientific organizations of the NAS of Belarus, learned about promising areas of activity of the Academy of Sciences at plenary meetings of the conference.
