The NAS of Belarus announces the 2026 competition for awards for young scientists
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus announces a competition for the nomination of the title of:
Academician Zh. Alferov Prizes for young scientists of the NAS of Belarus (a total of 2 prizes are awarded in physics, mathematics, computer science, physical and technical sciences and engineering);
Academician V. Kuprevich Prizes for young scientists of the NAS of Belarus (a total of 4 prizes are awarded in biology, chemistry and earth sciences, medicine and agricultural sciences);
Academician V. Ignatovsky Prize for young scientists of the NAS of Belarus (a total of 2 prizes are awarded in humanities and social sciences).
Prizes are awarded for individual scientific work or for a set of works united by a common theme.
Applicants for the awards may be young scientists (individuals or teams of authors consisting of no more than 3 people) under 35 as of January 1, 2026 (starting from and including the year of birth 1991), working in organizations of the NAS of Belarus at their main place of work, who have published the results of their research over the past 5 years (2022–2026).
The right to nominate works for awards is granted to the scientific (scientific and technical) councils of organizations of the NAS of Belarus.
When nominating candidates for the awards for young scientists, one copy of the following set of documents must be submitted:
cover letter from an organization nominating a work for an award;
an extract from the minutes of a meeting of the organization's scientific (scientific and technical) council with a justification of the significance of the results of the proposed work for science and practice;
work nominated for the prize: a separate scientific work (monograph, article) or thematically related monographs, other book publications, copies of articles, patents, materials confirming the practical development of the results of the work, collectively reflecting the solution of a scientific and/or practical problem;
an abstract of the work of approximately three pages of text, signed by the author(s), including the following information: title of the work; full name, academic degree, rank, position and place of work of each member of the author's team; statement of the problem and its relevance, solutions, and the results obtained;
a brief summary of the work in Belarusian, no more than one page in length, indicating the title of the work, full names, academic degrees, titles and place of work of the members of the authors’ team (for works written in Russian);
a brief statement of the research results (no more than 450 characters);
information about the author(s) – Curriculum vitae;
a certified list of publications included in the work and lists of works published by each author;
a certificate of personal contribution of each member of the author's team, signed by all co-authors of the work.
A single copy of the applicants' sets of documents with the inscription "For the _______________ Prize for Young Scientists 2026" shall be submitted no later than October 1, 2026, to the Prizes, Scholarships, and Awards Department of the Main Directorate of Personnel and Personnel Policy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus at: 220072, Minsk, Independence Av., 66, office 317, 406.
Along with the nomination materials, information about the work, completed on the attached form, is submitted.
