The NAS of Belarus took part in the BRICS Forum of Academies of Sciences
Today, a preliminary meeting of the BRICS Academies of Sciences Forum, "Using Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development and Strengthening Cooperation in the Global South," was held via videoconference. Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexei Trukhanov participated in the meeting.
In his speech, he noted that science plays a key role in solving our common global problems – from climate resilience to health, from food security to disaster risk reduction.
"Artificial intelligence is not just a technological frontier; it is a strategic factor that can help our countries overcome infrastructure gaps, jointly develop strategic solutions, and transform our team data and talent into shared prosperity. We fully agree that AI can transform materials science, healthcare, climate change, agriculture, and disaster management — all while ensuring fairness, trust, and effective governance," said Alexey Trukhanov.
