Investigation in the field of chemical engineering and colloid chemistry. pp. 5--25

Summary: An attempt has been made in the issue to consider the results of investigations performed in the Republic of Belarus from the point of view of chemical engineering, i. e. designing supramolecular and other low-dimension structures or their elements mainly by chemical methods. In this section the issue cover the works related to the development of materials that are structured from nano- and micro-dimensions elements. In the section dealing with traditional colloid chemistry, some problems of sol-gel technique have been treated, as well as the development of asphalt emulsion and their use in rood construction, technogenic disperse systems, synthesis and application of hydrogels, interphase synthesis of disperse systems, changes at the atomic-molecular level of adsorbent and adsorbate in the process of adsorption. Prospects for further development of some directions of the investigations and practical application of the developments are given.

The molecular mechanisms of cytochrome b5 interactions with electron-transfer proteins. pp. 64--76

Summary: The development of the efficient heterologous expression system for full-length microsomal cytochrome b5 in E. coli cells, allowing to get up to 200 mg of recombinant protein per 11 of culture medium and optimization of purification procedure by insertion of an additional 6His-taq cluster either into N- or C-terminal sequences of the cytochrome bs molecule let us to study the molecular mechanisms of interaction of cytochrome b5 with electron transfer proteins. To estimate the role of the negatively charged amino acid residues of the "acidic" cluster of cytochrome b5, we constructed mutant forms of cytochrome b5: Glu42Lys, Glu43Ala, Glu48Lys, Glu48,49Ala, Asp65Ala, Asp71Ala, expressed it in E. coli, purified to homogeneity and characterized physico-chemically. To understand the role of hydjophobic C-terminal fragment of cytochrome b5 in protein-protein interaction, we engineered full-length as well as truncated forms (by deletion of 40 amino acid residues from C-terminal sequence) of all mentioned cytochrome b5's and purified it to an apparent homogeneity. An application of molecular biology techniques and site-directed replacement of amino acid residues with potential functional role resulted in experimental proof of the important role of amino acid residues of "acidic" cluster of cytochrome bs as well as its C-terminal fragment in interaction with redox-partners including cytochrome c, microsomal cytochromes P4503A4 and P45017a as well as mitochondrial cytochrome P450scc. At the same time, it is shown that molecular mechanisms of interaction of cytochrome 65 with different redox-partners are unique. Thus, in interaction with mitochondrial cytochrome P450scc the predominant role belongs to residue Glu42 and in a less degree to residue Glu48. While amino acid residues Glu42, Glu43 and Glu48 are critical for interaction between cytochrome bs and microsomal cytochromes P4503A4 and P45017a. In contrast to cytochromes b5 and c interaction, residues Asp65 and Asp71 appear to be do not take part in formation of electrostatic contacts between cytochrome b5 and different cytochrome P450 isoforms. Summarizing results of the experiments on deletion of hydrophobic C-terminal fragment of cytochrome b5, we provided experimental evidence for the functional importance of this structural element of cytochrome b5 in interaction with cytochrome P450's and concluded on selective character of interaction of cytochrome b5 with different cytochrome P450 isoforms.

Alkaline activation of the montmorillonite clays. pp. 86--89

Summary: Properties of alkaline activation of montmorillonite clays has been studied. It has been shown that sorption capacity of obtained samples enhance with enhancing relation clay -- zeolite, time of activation and alkaline concentration in activation solution. It has been stated that 20% solution of alkaly having correlation 70% alkaly to 100% clay is the best for clay activation. Obtained samples practically don,t differ from known synthetic adsorbents on their structural parameters.

Mechanism of an oxidation of powder aluminum in hydrothermal conditions. pp. 90--94

Summary: Theoretic analysis of processes of formation of porous layer of byerite on a surface of aluminum particles has been carried out, properties of porous composite Al/Al(OH)3 have been studied. It has been shown that diffusion mass-transfer of aluminate through porous structure of growing layer of aluminum hydroxide to its external surface is limit stage of synthesis of porous composite. Model ideas about mechanisms of formation of porous composite have been developed, kinetic equations of growing of thickness d of aluminum hydroxide layer on a surface of aluminum particle and conversion degree have been presented. Number of effective coefficient of diffusion of aluminate in a porous structure of bye rite has been calculated on a base of elaborated mathematic model and experimental kinetic curve of conversion degree.

Potentiometric titration of ion exchangers with different concentration of background electrolytes. pp. 95--100

Summary: Effect of concentration of supporting electrolyte on the curves of fast potentiometric titration of carboxylic acid cation exchangers and a weak base anion exchangers has been studied. It was established the rate of the direct titration (cation exchangers in H+ form by alkalis, anion exchangers in OH- form by acids) is controlled by interprticle diffusion while the rate of the reverse process is limited by film diffusion. The curves of direct titration are close to the equilibrium ones at low concentration of the supportinf electrolyte, while the curves of the back titration are not equilibrium ones.

Summary: New catalytic method of production of N-alkyl(cyclohexylmethyl)amines from benzonitrile and aliphatic alcohol by means of reaction of hydroamination has been developed. An influence of catalyst and conditions of catalytic hydroamina-tion on the yield of N-alkyl(cyclohexylmethyl)amines has been investigated.

New method of synthesis of 6-amino-4-hydroxy-3-[4-(4-sulfophenylazo)-2-methoxyphenylazo]-2-naphtalene-sulfuric acid. pp. 105--106

Summary: The synthesis of diazoolye by the reaction of diazotidec sylfanilic acid with o-anyzidine in formic acid on the first stade of the synthesis have been proposed. The method allows to simplify the synthesis and to obtain aimed diazoolye with 79.4% yeld.

Summary: The influence of pore size and chemical structure of the polymer matrix for the properties of nanofiltration membranes has been studied. It Was shown that the polysulfon and charged polyamid ultrafiltration membranes as a matrix provide the final nanofiltration membrane with the improved selectivity and flux.

Composition of extracts of some peat forming plants extracts at eduction by dilute ethanol of different concentration. pp. 116--118

Summary: Influence of alcohol concentration in a binar system of extragents "water-alcohol" to output, properties and biological activity of a peat-forming plants (Comarum palustre L., Menyanthes Trifuliata L., Salix) has been studied. Optimal alcohol concentrations for producing of the most quantity of extracts with most containing of biological active substances (threeterpenoids) from these plants have been determined.
