Evgeny Mikhailovich Babosov (b. 23.02.1931, Ryazan, Russia), philosopher, sociologist. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1994; correspondent member since 1977), Doctor of Philosophical Sciences (1972), professor (1973). Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus (1996).
Scientific works are devoted to the philosophical and methodological problems of scientific knowledge, the epistemological mechanisms of scientific revolutions, the peculiarities of the interaction of scientific, technical and social progress. Developed new conceptual approaches to the study of the social aspects of the scientific and technological revolution, the spiritual world of man in unity with the socio-economic conditions. He explored the methodological problems of the functioning of spiritual culture in the life of modern society, its structure and function, especially the development of its components (science, worldview, political, moral, artistic culture), their place and role in the development of society, the socio-psychological mechanisms of their influence on the formation and personal activity. Develops theoretical and methodological problems of sociology, conflict management, extreme situations, crises and catastrophes, features of the transition period. Investigates the main trends of the social stratification and socio-political development of Belarus in the late XX - early XXI centuries. The main trends of changes in the social structure of a social society, the development of spiritual culture, especially its most important components, are science, education, morality, art, religion, as well as the sociodynamics of crises, conflicts and catastrophes. Recently, she has focused on the issues of philosophy and sociology of politics, culture and personality, the dynamics of social systems, their human orientation.
Author of over 880 scientific papers, incl. 59 monographs, textbooks and manuals.
State Prize of the BSSR in 1984 for a series of works on the history of philosophy and social thought of Belarus. Prize named after P.A. Sorokin in 2005 for his contribution to the development of sociological science.
Awarded with the Order "Badge of Honor" (1967), medals.
